Biography
Originally from Quebec City, I obtained my natural science degree at Cégep Ste-Foy. I then continued my studies at Laval University, where I started my bachelor’s degree in Biology in the fall of 2017. In the first summer of my bachelor’s degree, I joined the research community by completing an internship at CERVO where we studied the lateral habenula with fiber photometry and optogenetics. I then had the chance to join Christian Landry’s laboratory to perform a project for my initiation to research class.
Research interests
For my project, I will work with Dr. Johan Hallin to study the processes of de novo gene emergence. More specifically, I will investigate the fitness effects of knock-outs of de novo genes in natural yeast strains.
